GoT Season 6 Premiere Party

Don't worry this will totally be a spoiler free post. Last night was the long awaited season 6 premiere party for GoT, and it definitely was a party. We had a huge turn out and lots of pizza.

Personally I felt as though the season opener was a bit lacking in action, it didn't really address any lose ends from last season and jumped around to a lot of different plots. However, the sneak peak for next week looked fantastic! Hodor's annoying backpack is finally going to be back after not being on for an entire season, can't wait!

GoT Season 5 Finale Recap Recap

Last night residents gathered to watch the Game of Thrones season 5 finale to prepare ourselves for the season 6 premiere happening next weekend. If you have never watched the show, or are still trying to catch up, I wont include any spoilers. All I will say is that, wow, I really forgot how much bloodshed there is in that episode.

I only took some quick snaps at the beginning of the screening because we ended up turning the lights down. So heads up if you're looking for a place to watch the season 6 premiere next weekend, the community room is the place to go!
Hope to see you there!

Pendulum Art

This is a cool way of mixing art and science! It's called pendulum art. The link below explains how to do everything.

Here are some cool pictures of what people created.

Super Free Wednesday!

Ho-hum. You're just getting back from class, and you're friends are just getting ready to go out and party like Y2K is happening tomorrow. You're out of money, you don't have any real food, and the stress is slowly piling up and you're ever so surely slinking into that deep pit of existential quicksand called "your early 20s" and there's no branch for you to grab onto to pull yourself up. It's all over for you. This is it. You've reluctantly resigned yourself to spending the night in your room, lights off, lying in bed, listening to a slowed down instrumental version of Smashmouth's "All Star" while you think about all the choices you've made thus far in life that have led you to this moment right now. It's what you've started to begrudgingly refer to as "a typical Wednesday night".

But wait - what if I told you that there's something that happens every Wednesday night. Something to make you laugh. Something that makes you feel alive and empowered. When you watch it, you feel like you can do anything. It's that branch out of the quicksand. And what if I told you that it's free?

Every Wednesday at the People's Improv Theater (right up by GW) is Super Free Wednesday. It starts at 7pm with a show done by two troups - Lovers & Vern. And it's totally, extremely, no-money-back-guarantee, slap-your-mother-in-the-mouth-with-an-oily-fish-and-call-her-Daisy, 100% free. Super free. You know Superman? This is what he calls free. Wanna be like Superman? Get into that raggedy old worn-down phone booth someone left a bottle of Jameson in three nights ago, change into your best "casual, but like, still trying, you know?" clothing, and go to Super Free Wednesday.

Super Free Wednesday.

It's free. And it's super.

Scientists Want to Know If Cats Learn Accents From Their Owners

Cat's are pretty crazy everyone. Researches have found that cat's may be able to understand accents? that pretty neat or as Nick would say, "OH YAA THATS WICKED AHHSAM LET GET WATCH THE SAACKS GAME". I'm more of a dog person myself mainly because a cat peed on me when I was at a very impressionable age but this article is great! Check it out.

30 Rock Review

Yes, I am writing a review of 30 Rock. I am so late the party but I needed a new show to watch on Netflix and I decided to go with 30 Rock. I coming off of a Frasier high and I needed something that could at least maintain the comedic stamina.

Well... 30 Rock is exceptional. It is smart, fresh and sweet. Tina Fey is a delight to watch and her paired with Alec Baldwin is an entertainment delight. Alec Baldwin has the wit and humorous spark of the police captain in The Departed and the powerful boss in Glanngary Glenross. Tina Fey is the star of the show and I would not want to watch any other person. She's got spunk, cuteness, and sharp intelligence.

It's a light show that has the under lying heaviness of reality.

30 Rock = 5 stars in my book.

Thank you Tina Fey for creating this show.
