The Shining Event - October 26th

Do you Shine? I don't shine. I admire the sun shine! But no in all seriousness, Halloween is right around the corner and to make it spooky around the infamous Ludlow Residence Hall, Stanley Kubrick's The Shining, starring Jack Nicholson will be playing in the Community Room on October 26th at 7 PM!

For those who haven't seem this epic horror film, let me fill you in.

Jack Torrence (Nicholson) gets a new job as the caretaker at the Overlook Hotel while the hotel closes for the winter season. The hotel closes for winter because the area, Colorado, gets bombarded by snow and to quote the film, "It is not economically feasible to keep the roads open." However... there is a bit of story attached to the Overlook. Years ago, a former caretaker got a case of cabin fever and went insane. He killed his wife and two daughters and then killed himself.... DUN DUN DUUUUNNNN! So that lingers about.

The film is creepy, chilling and a classic. Besides entertaining, it is a masterfully constructed movie with plenty of terror.

Here is the trailer which doesn't really make sense but its frightening!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! MUHAHAHA! See you SUNDAY!
